This is part of the Triang Wooden WDB/1 Double Bedroom Set [5 pieces], consisting of a double bed with a headboard and side cabinets. A three door wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table with a stool. It was produced for one year only, in 1963. I have 3 pieces of the set, although not in perfect condition, I am still pleased to have them in my collection.
The base area of the bed is 4.75″ x 5″, the headboard is 7″ long. The wood at the end of the bed is not original, it would have been the same colour as the headboard.
Rear view of the headboard and cabinets. The bedside cabinets attach to the headboard with little pegs.
Under view of bed – should have removed the paper before I took the picture.
The chest of drawers is 3.25″ x 2″ [2.5″ including legs] depth 1.5″ [inc. drawers]. I love the little legs on this.
This is quite a well made piece of furniture, the drawers have a plastic inner, attatched to a wooden front. The drawers slide in and out easily.

The wardrobe is 4.75″ x 4.50″, and is l.5″ deep [inc. door edge]. The base of the wardrobe should be a solid piece of dark wood, and not two small pieces.
The door handles are tiny pins and wooden beads, and there is a wooden rail to hang your clothes on. Although the middle panel does not have a handle, it does open.
The wardrobe carcus is damaged where the nails go for the door to open on the left hand side. I may try to repair this, but not sure yet what to do.

I now have to decide which of my houses it will go into, one of the larger ones I think ……….
