Triang Ultra Modern No.50

I have had a few projects on the go and many still to complete.  I bought a Paris Coffee Shop Kit.

This kit has taken me ages to complete.  I wanted to have a go at one of these kits, and perhaps learn a few miniature skills while I was doing it.  It is nearly complete, and I am determined to get it finished, before I move onto something else.  As much as I have enjoyed creating this kit, it has taken up far too much time, and I have decided my true passion is restoring houses.

CHRISTMAS GIFT ……. ANOTHER DOLLS HOUSE

I had noticed this big box, beautifully wrapped,  in my husbands ‘Man Cave’ with my name on it.  I just had this feeling that it could be another house, even though he knows I have no room for any more, but he always says ‘I am sure you can fit one more in’.  So I have spent the last few weeks trying to guess what house it might be ……… [How silly, I would have felt if it was not a dolls house, but I know him so well, and he had been searching ebay, and asking very subtle questions.] It was  a wonderful surprise when I unwrapped it, and found a Triang Ultra Modern No.50 house inside. This is a house I have always wanted, why I don’t no, as it is a very simple style.

The next problem I have is to find it a home, more organising in the Shed, perhaps another shelf.  It’s not too big, if I can find room for a Triang Princess 2, I am sure I can find room for this little gem ……

It is 1/16 scale, so is good for the smaller vintage furniture which I like.

This house will be the perfect place to display my Triang Garden Furniture.

Love love love this little doll house. I have the green version. I believe the red windows to be original as I have seen quite a few red ones for sale now. I keep missing them when up for sale.

I have not restored this type of window before … Was the glass in your windows a bit rough round the edges?

  2. It is so nice to have a supportive partner who “gets” your hobby. The Ultra Modern is an interesting house, so different from the usual Triang styles. I love the shop. I think it would be a lot of fun to have one but agree that it would be a fiddly thing to restore. You have done a great job though. I wish I could see your shed.

My husband is always on the look out for things I might like, and quite helpful with odd bits my houses might need, I am not very good with a saw.

This one was on my wish list, now I will have to add another, my list is never ending. Unlike the space I have to keep them, getting smaller and smaller.

  4. What a lot of cutting out and small bits there are for the Paris Coffee and Cake Shop. So much patience! I do like the super bay window in the Triang – v attractive.

So many little bits to cut out and so much glue, just to tiny…
